It's a bummer, but I have decided from now on to have (most posts) as friends and family. This means if you enjoy checking up on us and don't have a vox account, you'll have to make one and we'll have to link for you to see our updates from this point on.
I don't want any of our friends/family to miss our updates, so please go sign up at www.vox.com so you can still keep up with us!
Thanks!
Julie came down for a week to help out and it was great. She was tons of help and we had a fun time hanging out with her. We wish that they lived closer than Alaska; we miss them terribly. Julie and I had fun with Moira, and played a little dress up with all her fun cute clothes. Here are more pictures from the week that we took with Julies camera.
Thanks again Jules; we miss you tons!
So this week Moira had her 1 month check up. She is 6 lbs. 12 oz. and 20 in. long. She is only in the 5th percentile, but is doing great. We have had a busy week.
Andy and I did a picnic at Squaw Creek and then hiked up to Rat Lake. It was beautiful and relaxing. I fed Moira by the creek and Andy BBQ'd. It was great.
On Saturday Moira did her first race. My friend was doing the kids 1 mile fun run to support "Haven" (support for battered women) with her 3 year old and 6 month old. She asked if we wanted to walk with her. I said sure, not realizing she officially signed us up. It was a beautiful day and a fun walk. Moira and I both had race numbers and everything. Moira was the youngest racer, and she just road along on my chest in the moby, sleeping the entire time. It was fun.
Our friends Ray and Linda are back in town for a week and so they got to meet Moira.
And on Sunday, Aunt Julie came for the week to help out. She has been lots of help and it has been fun getting to hang out with her. Pat came for a few days, and on Monday we all went on a hike to Crescent Lake; it was beautiful.
We are having a great time with our daughter and don't know where the time goes.
Time is going by so quickly. I can't believe she is already 3 weeks and approaching 1 month. This last weekend we made a quick trip to Great Falls, so we could introduce great-grandma Dorothy to Moira. It was a fun trip; my parents met us there for the weekend and we all just hung around and played with Moira. It was fun; and of course grandma Dorothy spoiled us with all her fabulous cooking and treats while we were there. This week we went on more walks, took more baths, played more, ate lots and slept lots.
So one malfunction with our house in Bozeman has always been the front entry. For some reason the builder drained the front rain gutter right onto the concrete sidewalk leading to our front door. So for the last however many winters we have had an ice skating rink for a sidewalk for those to come to our front door. As you can imagine, this has been quite dangerous. So, while Dean was here and Andy home for a few weeks, they decided to tackle this problem. They built what turned out to be an attractive entry way addition to extend the rain gutter to a rain chain that runs now over the sidewalk and out into the grass. Thanks Dean for all the help; it is exactly what we needed.
Yesterday we hiked up to Grotto Falls up Hyalite Canyon. It was beautiful. Yes, Moira was with us in the moby wrap strapped to Andy and slept the entire time. Eiger loved every minute, playing in the creek most of the time. It was 2.5 miles round trip, so just an easy day hike to start getting me back in shape. We look forward to many more family hikes to come.
Yes, sleep deprivation, but well worth it. Our daughter is absolutely precious and we love her to death. This week Moira had her first bath, went to her first Church service in an adorable pink sweater and hat made by a friend, Heidi Diggs, had her first stroller rides in her Bumbleride, and was constantly adored by us.
We are enjoying every moment with Moira. She is gaining weight and is up to 5 lbs. She has melted Andy and my hearts. Eiger loves to be right there for every moment; he is doing awesome with her.
Every year Eiger's breeders host a birthday party for all the dogs they have ever bred. This is about 30 some dogs, but this year only about 15 made the party. However, Eiger had a blast and my mom, Andy's mom, Moira and I all stopped by for a quick visit. Andy and Eiger stayed and played all day. It was a fun outing.
Seriously....this is a cute picture! I love it. And...Michelle, you look so good in that hat? I wish it would... read more
